As a second grade parent, what are some of the most important items you would like to see in our classroom blog?
For example, would you like a monthly calendar with important reminders or maybe links to help with homework? I can't wait to hear all of your ideas!
I would like to see homework assignments as well as links to help with homework, especially when it comes to math. I would like to see the topics that are being studied in each subject and the dates that the students would be tested. It would be nice if the teacher posted the book(s) that are being read to the class, upcoming events at the school, and a list of things that parents could volunteer to do to help make the learning experience and the teaching experience easier.

I already create a weekly newsletter with reminders, assignment due dates, spelling lists, weekly skills for reading and math, etc. It would be easy to upload it to my blog. Parents could pull it up on their phone or tablet anytime. They wouldn't have the need to keep up with the newsletter "paper" all week. Thanks for your input.
DeleteAs a busy parent, I would love to see a weekly newsletter. This newsletter could have the homework for the week and objectives the teacher is teaching. The newsletter could share important dates and parent nights. It would help to put important parent conference nights or even report card pick up dates on the weekly newsletter as well.
ReplyDeleteLinks for math explanations so I can help my child would be very helpful. School has changed since I have been in, and I know students and teachers are teaching differently since I have attended. This blog will be so helpful since I will be able to look at it with a click of a button on my cell phone. I know every parent has a phone at least, and can take the time to see what the buzz is in second grade for the week!
I think a link for math help would be great as well. That's the main subject where I get parent questions. Thanks for your input!
DeleteAs a second grade parent, I would love to see pictures of my child's finished projects, as well as pictures of them collaborating with other students and having FUN! I would also like a weekly newsletter that provides the reading topic and spelling words, due dates, and upcoming classroom and school events. Last, I would love for a spot on the blog that is open to parents to ask questions or ask for advice about how to help their children outside of school. This could be a "parent advice" section.
